Overview
The initial intent of the start-up was to create a delivery platform that catered to the needs of delivery drivers and customers in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic. After a year of operation the company made the decision to pivot in a direction that intended to serve more entities. My primary focus was to help guide the project design through this readjusted mission.
Objective
The objective of the project was to transition from a delivery-focused platform to a system that implemented point-of-sale elements within the restaurant experience.
Responsibilities
My role required me to take part in several responsibilities. My responsibilities included the following:
Develop the concept and direction of design
Provide background research regarding target audience, pain points, and competition analysis
Design and wireframe the low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes
Collaborate with other designers and developers for design input
Manage tasks and inquiries regarding the application user flows.
Development
The design process was conducted as follows:
Research background information and conduct interviews.
Utilize the Asana platform to coordinate deadlines and tasks for the team
Develop a series of personas using InVision to help cater our design to the target audience.
Create an information architecture framework through the Miro platform to organize the different components and phases of the project
Compose wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes through Adobe XD to be sent to developers for workflow feedback.
Use the Slack and Zoom platforms to communicate with design and development teams about potential revisions and pain points
Revise and update designs through Adobe XD before showcasing it for developers to develop
Deliverables
The product required the design team to create several applications that would correspond with each other. This included the design of an admin desktop platform that oversaw the operations of the entire project. In addition, we were tasked with the design of a kitchen platform and restaurant application to help operate the main project functions.
This process all began with developing a series of mid-fidelity prototypes. Afterwards, they would be prepared for review and user testing

UI Design
Once the mid-fidelity prototypes were tested and results were compiled, High-fidelity designs were created. The overall design centered around being user-friendly towards restaurant patrons and designing with parameters pertaining to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
These considerations contributed to the following elements:
Receive Service "Call to Action"
Ease of Use / Accessibility
Application Navigation
Inviting Color Sheme
Minimalist Design

Admin Desktop Platform
The final component required the design of an admin platform that could control the various nuances associated with the business model and its functionality. This required coordination with developers to create the back-end for this system.

Conclusion
Over the course of the project I faced a variety of challenges that helped me gain perspective on the various elements of development. One of the major lessons was to be flexible due to the development team undergoing major turnover. As a result, I had to transition the work and communication from an in-person studio to an outsource team overseas thus handling various barriers such as time zones and schedules. Overall, the project was very fulfilling and helped strengthen my skills within the industry.

Kitchen Platform
The other component of this system required an application for the restaurant kitchen to manage. This required us to create a series of designs and workflows to address this additional need.
